Mat-Su Middle College School (MSMCS) is a partnership between the Mat-Su Borough School District (MSBSD), the University of Alaska (UAA), and the Mat-Su College (MSC). This unique opportunity for high school juniors and seniors is located on the MSC campus. Each student’s tuition, fees and textbooks are funded through the base student allocation and supported throughout the community as a school of choice. MSMCS requires an online application, University of Alaska ID with login credentials and college placement exams in Accuplacer and ALEKS. Applications for incoming juniors and seniors must be completed in its entirety, including college testing, no later than August 1^st, 2025. Apply early to allow time for the application process, including UA placement testing!

Mat-Su Middle College School Sophomore Program

The Mat-Su Middle College School has a limited number of full-time seats for sophomores for the Fall 2025 school year. These seats will be available until the admissions threshold is met. The application period will close May 1^st, 2025. If the admissions threshold is not met by May 9^th, students that have applied may continue to take UA placement tests (Accuplacer and ALEKS) after this date. Current freshmen need to complete the 2025-26 MSMCS SOPH App S1 through MSBSD ParentVue account and complete the application process. Incoming sophomore students must test college ready in both the Accuplacer (530) and ALEKS (30).

Minimum high school GPA 2.0 or higher.
Junior or senior in good academic standing and on track to graduate. *Students typically apply in the spring of sophomore year with enrollment beginning in fall of junior year.

Application Timeline


Application Dates	Application for Fall 2025 admission opens January 1 to August 1, 2025. Priority Application Deadline is March 28, 2025. All components need to be complete, including testing. Application Instructions
Placement Test Dates	Register HERE for the Accuplacer and Alex All placement testing must be completed by August 1, 2025.
Acceptance	Applicants will be notified by email. Students must respond to confirm their intention to enroll in MSMCS.
College Advising	After acceptance from MSMCS, students will schedule a college advising appointment. To make an appointment visit: MSC Academic Advising
Registration	Complete annual MSBSD registration after July 1, 2025: MSBSD ParentVUE Registration
High School Schedule	In order to see your High School Schedule. Your annual MSBSD ParentVUE Registration must be processed. The MSMCS Counselor automatically adds any required high school classes to your schedule that will be visible in ParentVUE/StudentVUE. High school schedules are made available to students at Orientation.
